Socks

Socks are essential this season. They are so comfortable and can be a great accessory to add something interesting to your outfit. Crew socks are awesome for when you are wearing booties, they add a little pop of interest to even the most simple outfits. Knee high socks are also great under your fall boots, they tend to add a fall/wintery feel to your outfit and bring the whole look together. My favorite is the thigh high socks. Since no one wears tights anymore under dresses or skirts this is the best and most stylish alternative. It can go with so many different looks and can keep you warm while adding an edge to your ensemble. Thigh high socks are comfortable, sexy, fashionable and ideal for layering or to show off. So go out, buy yourself any type of sock and show it off!!!

Fall Style

Photograph by: Noa Gamliel

This upcoming fall, plaid and flannels are back. In a big way. Different shapes, styles and colors are appearing in many stores. Big brand companies are taking the basic plaid flannel and making it big. A flannel is sometimes as comfortable as a big sweater but is a lot more stylish and anyone can pull it off. Plaid skirts have always been paired with the idea of private schools and preppy girls. But lately brands like Brandy Melville and American Apparel are bringing it back for the modern girl with an edge. Also flannel dresses are a new, but still yet to become, famous trend. Flannel dresses are so cool and comfortable and really makes you stand out of the crowd (in a good way). Normally when people think of plaid they associate it with private school uniforms, and when they think of flannels they think of cowboys. I want you to get this stereotype basic thinking out of your head. Plaid and flannel is the upcoming trend for the girl who likes to dress cool and a little different from everyone else. Do me a favor and this fall go buy yourself a flannel and wear it on a casual day paired with some jeans. Pair a plaid skirt with some stockings, a cute sweater and some tall boots, wear this, and I promise you will feel and look like you are ready to take on fall.

Black is the New Black continued...

You know how I said in an earlier post that "black is the new black"? Well this girl that I met in New York City proves my point even more. She shows us just how cool and different black can really be. You can start to get a sense of the type of person she is just by the way she styled this outfit. I challenge you to go put on some black clothes and then make your personality scream out from underneath.

Accesories

Distinct, exponential, and noteworthy necklaces and shoes is what you should be looking for when assembling an outfit for this season. These two elements can make your outfit different, special, and standout from others. You can convey a great deal about yourself through the accessories you choose to wear. Don't be afraid to try big, bulky, and bright statement jewelry. It transmits a sense of confidence. And about shoes.... seriously wear whatever you slide into and immediately give you a feeling of superiority. If your accessories don't make you feel great about yourself then it is not doing it's job.

Sunglasses

Keep your eyes protected this summer, sunglasses are all the new rave. Sunglasses are functional and funky and they are a great way to express yourself. I have no clue why but every type of shade that you can possibly think of is all coming back. 60's thick frame, 70's circles, 80's crazy colors, 90's huge lenses, 2000's aviators. Somehow oddly enough even heart shapped sunglasses found their way into today's style. Whatever type of sunglasses you pick, be crazy and be you.

Short Hair

The weather is getting warmer so  your hair should be getting shorter. This season its all about hair to your shoulders, if not shorter. It's enough with the long hair, now is the time to make a change. Be bold, be different! I recently cut my hair short and I love it, something about it just makes me feel upbeat and easy going. Shorter hair makes you look thinner and allows people to focus on your face, not just on your long hair which is dragging you down. Cutting your hair also makes it look much healthier and tends to give it a certain shine. Short hair is very easy to control and doesn't involve too much work. I believe you cant go wrong with having hair of the length between your shoulders and your chin . Of course there's always the fear that chopping your long locks off will make you look like a mom, tired and lazy. I have a few tips to do the non-mom bob. First, texture, texture, texture, make sure your hair isn't flat and lifeless. There are many creams and shampoos you can use to create this effortless texture. With short hair its very easy and quick to curl. If your like me and you struggle with curling hair, you should try the flat iron waves. Twist your hair and straighten, its that quick and easy. So if you were wondering whats next for your hair, chop it off! Go the short way, it's effortless, beautiful, and looks great on everyone. If you decided to chop off your hair or have any questions, comment below I would love to reply ;)
