What Has Fashion Become?

What in the world happened to fashion? Online shopping and sweatpants, that's what happened! Have you noticed that every decade people tend to get lazier and lazier? People stopped going to the mall to buy clothes because they rather sit in their beds and be lazy. Don't deny the fact that online shopping is a struggle. You need to buy clothes before you try them on. Online shopping is more expensive (shipping price), more inefficient (shipping time, may have to return if it doesn't fit), and your missing out of the joy of physically touching and finding clothes (many clothes don't look the same online). Everyone is so worried about being comfortable, and they think the only way to achieve this is by wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts. People have this idea in their head that jeans are tight and restrictive, and therefore people stray away from wearing them. But hello wake up people we're in the 21st  century! Why do you think they invented jeggings anyway? You're as comfortable as if you are wearing leggings, but you look as stylish as if you were wearing jeans. Dressing lazy makes you feel tired and unproductive. Do society and yourself a favor and wear your jeggings and a cute t-shirt and see how much more confident and energetic you really can be.

NYFW The Shows

Liberatore
Dugi
PM Waterlily
New York Fashion Week The Shows are famous all around the world. New York Fashion Week, held in February and September of each year, is a semi-annual series of events (generally lasting 7–9 days) when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press, and the general public. It is one of four major fashion weeks in the world, collectively known as the "Big 4", along with those in Paris, London and Milan. It is every fashionistas dream to go inside and view these exclusive shows. It has always been my dream, and somehow with crazy luck, my dream came true. I went to see 3 shows; Francesca Liberatore, Orlando Dugi, and PM Waterlily (Patricia Michaels). The energy and excitement in the room is contagious and you wish it to never end. Each show was different and distinct in its own way and that's what made it so special. Liberatore's collection was very flowy and simplistic with a clear inspiration of the NYC skyline. Dugi's collection was very structured with attention to form and fit, it felt Chinese Dynasty inspired. Michaels' collection was very different from all the rest because she payed close attention to how the outfits would move on the body and catch air while walking. She had many small details which made it very intriguing. When I saw PM Waterlily it felt like I was seeing a water goddess show. I had so much fun and every show was amazing and unique. I can't wait to go hopefully next year again.

New York Fashion Week

Photography by: Noa Gamliel
Lately I have been very busy with college applications and haven't had much time to blog. This weekend I was fortunate enough to go to NYFW. I got to see Francesca Liberatore's show because I was invited through Marist College, PA. The show was amazing and I saw Kelley Osbourne! When I was in the hotel elevator I saw a man wearing a Style Fashion Week pass. I asked him if there was any way he can get me to see a show. He said, "I'm actually leaving tomorrow morning so you can have my pass and see shows tomorrow. Fashion Police was recording an episode at one of the shows and it was unbelievable seeing Tim Gunn just a couple feet away from me. I saw two shows, Dugi and PM Waterlilly, they were both stunning and I got the opportunity to meet many people from the fashion industry. I will be writing posts for each show individually and describe them more detailed. I will also be posting pictures from the shows. NYFW is obviously about the amazing fashion shows but a big part of it is also what goes on outside of the show doors. The street style in NYC is so creative and unique during the week because the most fashion forward people are in the city. They are not afraid to be different. I took many streetsyle pictures along with pictures of the shows. I will be posting the pictures and trends that I noticed later on. I will be posting a lot more often so I hope you like what's coming up and feel free to subscribe to my blog so you will get notified when I post a new blog post.
