Over the Knee Boots

Over the knee high boots is currently one of the biggest shoe trends. People love them because of their ability to make your leg seem substantially longer than it truly is, and it slims your figure. There is a thin line between classy and trashy when wearing these boots, and many people seem to confuse the two. These boots attract a lot of attention to the legs. This means that your top half must be calm and modest. Dresses in my opinion look the best with over the knee boots and give a sense of class and self confidence. Another master tip to rocking over the knee boots is not allowing more then five inches between the edge of your boots and your hemline. Follow these simple tips and you will be able to dominate the streets in your over the knee boots.

One of the biggest trends I noticed on the red carpet this year were gold and shimmering detailing. Gleaming dresses are perfect for the Oscars, and especially for photographs. The light reflects off of the gown well and is very attention grabbing, which is what most people look for in a big event like this. Some women were able to pull off the gold while others could not. Gold is a very difficult color to wear, especially if you are fair skinned. The tanner the girl, the greater the contrast is. Therefore, the dress will appear more flattering. They took older fashions, and made them modern. Such as, Emma Stone's fringe dress. Most of the outfits worn were very stylish, classy, and complementary to the women on the red carpet.

Grammy's 2017 After Party

The outfits that were worn at the Grammy after parties made up for the lack of beautiful clothes at the Grammy's themselves. The rich and famous took these events to express themselves through expensive brand name clothing. Halsey (left) expressed her unique and attention grabbing personality with a mixed pattern outfit. The outfit had a lot of red detailing which is very flattering on her skin tone. Halsey's outfit was very unique and distinctive, just like her alternative music. Jhene Aiko (right) stays up to date with the current trends, wearing her thigh high boots and a slip dress with a shimmering effect. Jhene's outfit was alluring which is alined with her singing and performing style. Both Halsey and Jhene stayed authentic to who they are and what they stand for as musicians.

Grammy's 2017 Fashion

I could say that the outfits of the red carpet this year were interesting. But that would be a total understatement. This was the first year that I watched the Grammy's and didn't fall in love with any outfit. I was underwhelmed, but hey thats just me. I believe the most talked about outfit was CeeLo Green and that was only for the memes. I truly only liked two outfits, and they were: Skylar Grey (Left) and Paris Jackson (Right). Skylar is wearing a classy blouse dress with a slit in the front. This is very unique and shows a sophistication. Paris is wearing very earthy tones that really bring out her eyes. The sparkles on her dress were done in a very tasteful way that made it look expensive rather than painstakingly bling. The shape also complimented her figure, especially with the high waist to make her legs look longer. Looking forward to see what the Oscar's Red Carpet will bring!

Fishnet Tights

Fishnet tights sound scary to people at first. They sound grunge and goth to most people initially. But, now this idea is becoming increasingly mainstream and more "tumblr." Fishnet tights are mainly worn under distressed boyfriend jeans, it is styled this way so you can see the fishnet under the holes. If or when you wear a cropped shirt you can catch a glimpse of the fishnet tights above the waistline, and at the bottom of the jeans above the shoes. They add another layer of complexity to your wardrobe. Some may be intimidated by this trend, and you have the right to be, but don't let this intimidation stop you from slaying the city streets. 

Bodysuits

Bodysuits are coming back from the 70s and are taking this season by storm. The Kardashians wear them with almost every outfit and women all over are following right along. Especially for the winter, bodysuits are so perfect because they tuck into your pants and stay in place so it keeps you warm. There are so many different types of body suits that can be worn for many different occasions. Bodysuits are also perfect for low rise jeans. Now, when your jeans fall, you don't need to worry about what people might see. With a body suit it stays tucked in to your pants for a nice, classy, and sleek look. If you don't have a bodysuit yet you should totally try it and see how life changing it is.

What Has Fashion Become?

What in the world happened to fashion? Online shopping and sweatpants, that's what happened! Have you noticed that every decade people tend to get lazier and lazier? People stopped going to the mall to buy clothes because they rather sit in their beds and be lazy. Don't deny the fact that online shopping is a struggle. You need to buy clothes before you try them on. Online shopping is more expensive (shipping price), more inefficient (shipping time, may have to return if it doesn't fit), and your missing out of the joy of physically touching and finding clothes (many clothes don't look the same online). Everyone is so worried about being comfortable, and they think the only way to achieve this is by wearing sweatpants and sweatshirts. People have this idea in their head that jeans are tight and restrictive, and therefore people stray away from wearing them. But hello wake up people we're in the 21st  century! Why do you think they invented jeggings anyway? You're as comfortable as if you are wearing leggings, but you look as stylish as if you were wearing jeans. Dressing lazy makes you feel tired and unproductive. Do society and yourself a favor and wear your jeggings and a cute t-shirt and see how much more confident and energetic you really can be.
